New 2011 BMW
Anglesey Report
First race Powerbike up to 1000cc
This was our first outing this year and Scott had to get to grips with the BMW. The first race was the Powerbike class, Scott had only riden the bike for 5 laps in practice so it was a big challenge for him to see how quick he could get on the pace. He went off row 3 and found himself in 11th place on the first lap, as the race went on he moved forward and finished fifth and did a 1 minute 13 second lap which was only 1 second a lap off the winning pace, so I knew that he was getting the hang of it.
Next was the 600cc race
New Leathers
Scott went off row 3 again, made a good start on the first lap was 6th and was moving through the field and as always in the 600 races there's alot of very close racing with a few riders, Scott got up into 3rd place by the end of the race, the bike seemed to be going well and we were happy with it.
Back the 1000cc for the Wirral hundred championship race
Scott went off row two and found him self in a close battle on the first few laps, Scott was in fifth place and moving forward well and by lap 6 he was in third place and still gaining on the second place man. Then he was catching a slower rider who was getting lapped, he caught him just wrong and had to shut off for a second, which made it hard to keep catching the 2nd place rider, Scott finished a good 3rd place lapping at 1.11 - they were lapping only 2 seconds outside the lap record, Scott was going very well on the new bike.
Next was 600cc Championship race
Scott being Dad!
Row two again Scott got away with the leading bunch all fighting for the one fast line round the first corner, Scott clashed with another rider which put him off line and slowed him around the first corner, he sooon gathered him self and took chase finishing in a good 5th place.
Rider report from Scott...
"I would like to thank everybody who has helped to bring together a great pack, age for the 2011 season and having now riden the BMW 1000cc Bike what a fantastic machine it is, the handling is great and turns very well indeed and is very easy to ride - power delivery smooth, Traction control no good for wheelies though don't like that bit so soon swiched that off LOL, I cannot wait to ride it at the TT it will be a great machine for the Isle of Man, unbelievable power for a stock engine and electronics."
