Scott Wilson riding profile 1990 to 2009

Scott Wilson 36 and lives in Carnforth with his family. He has been riding bikes since he was 14 when he was riding trial bikes at local events. At 20 Scott went Grass track racing as Graham Wilson had done - Scotts father.  He raced Grass track from 1990 to 2004 this is where he met Steve for the first time. Scott was a good grass track rider and finished 10th in the British Masters and also finished 15th in the European grass track championship. In 1998 Scott, John Pepper and Jason Handley and other riders from Cumbria entered the Inter centre championships, the team was very successful and won the 500cc British team championship.

2005

Scott was thinking of having a go at road racing, he bought a bike and he and legendary TT rider Bob Jackson rebuilt this bike in to a race bike for 2005 season. Scott rode at some circuits such as croft and Oulton Park and decided to put his skills to the test and have a go at road racing which is only done in Ireland and the Isle of Man.

His first event was the Cookstown 100, Scott was mad about the roads from then on and entered his first Manx GP as a new comer. There he rode in the newcomers race and the junior race and the senior race.  In the newcomers race he was leading the race at one stage but went a bit wide and clipped a bale and bent his gear lever which slowed him down a little and he finished 5th in the race. In the junior he finish 31st and in the senior he finished 24th - not a bad start for his first Manx GP.

2006

Scott was riding Bob Jackson machinery at the start of the 2006 season, then later changed to PRF machinery for the Manx GP.  His plans for this season was to do mostly Irish road meetings and Isle of Man road meetings, as he enjoyed the roads more than the circuits. He raced at the NW200, Cookstown, Tandragee, and Skerries these three are all in Ireland. He also raced at the Southern 100 and Steam Packet races on the Isle of Man, and this is where he met Paul Rennie from PRF Racing.  Paul offered Scott the use of his two bikes for the Manx GP, Scott accepted his offer and he rode the bikes at the Manx GP that year and finished 10th in the junior race and 12th in the senior race which was great for his second visit to the TT circuit.

2007

Scott was riding PRF machinery sponsored by Diamond H Transport and he planned to do some short circuits and roads.  Scott rode at some Wirral 100 meetings held at Oulton park and Anglesey, also that year he rode at Cookstown 100, Skerries, the Southern 100 the Isle of Man Steampacket and the Manx GP and this season – his third - he finished 16th place in the junior race at a average speed 111.86 mph the senior race was cancelled due to bad weather.
